We are delighted to be working with the Tiger Nut Company to source our Tiger Nut Flour. They have great products and a passion for all things tiger-nut related.

Despite the name, these are not actually nuts at all, but the tuber of a plant which is widely cultivated in Spain. So, there’s no need to worry if you have a nut allergy!

Tiger nuts are another high-antioxidant food, containing both Vitamin E and Oleic Acid which help protect your body from disease. They also help as they are high in antibiotic properties, boosting the immune system and helping you to shrug off diseases as well as fighting pathogens such as salmonella and E-coli. As well as fighting the bad bacteria, tiger nuts also act as a prebiotic – a source of energy for the good bacteria in the gut.

Tiger nuts contain higher proportion of fibre than common high-fibre foods such as quinoa. By acting as a cleanser in the gut, collecting fat and LDL (bad) cholesterol particles and toxins along the way before disgorging them, thereby helping to prevent heart disease and diabetes.

All of this, and they could also increase testosterone levels and stimulate sexual motivation in males of the species!
